Police appeal after burglary of West Bridgford family home

Police are seeking the public’s help after burglars stole jewellery after raiding a family home.

Officers investigating the break-in, which happened in Boxley Drive in West Bridgford between 7.50pm and 8.05pm on Monday (1 November 2021) are now appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward as they progress with their enquiries.

The offenders smashed a patio door and French door windows to gain entry before searching rooms.

A gold wedding ring, gold wedding band and a gold necklace were taken.

Police Constable Andrew Howat, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It is totally unacceptable that someone would do this and we are working hard to find those responsible for this upsetting crime.  We are following all lines of enquiry available to us, including checking CCTV footage.

“I’d like to reassure people that Nottinghamshire Police treats burglary with the utmost importance and will investigate reports.

“We take reports of this nature incredibly seriously and will do all we can to bring people before the courts for these kind of distressing offences.

“To help us with our ongoing enquiries we are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the times stated to please get in contact with us. We would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured CCTV of the incident or those involved or from any motorists who may have recorded dash-cam footage.”

It is believed the three men who carried out the burglary fled in car which headed down Boxley Drive towards the city.

Anyone with any information about the burglary is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 692 of 1 November 2021, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
