Police appeal after man ‘deliberately run over’ by a pickup truck

Nottinghamshire Police is appealing for witnesses after reports that a man was deliberately run over.

Officers were called just after 12.45pm on Friday 9 October to Grove Street in Retford after calls reporting that a man had been deliberately run over by someone driving a blue pickup truck. He was then allegedly assaulted by the occupants of the truck with baseball bats and a hammer.

The man received minor injuries.

Detective Constable Jann Olsen, who is investigating, said: “This was a violent incident and it’s fortunate that the victim was not more seriously hurt.

“Our enquiries into what happened are well underway and we are looking at CCTV and other available evidence to try and find those responsible.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened who has not already spoken to the police to come forward and help us with our investigation.”
