Police investigating reports a man repeatedly struck his guide dog are appealing for information.
The incident took place in Hucknall Road, Nottingham, close to the Grosvenor pub, on 17 November 2024 around 8.10pm.
Police Constable Lisa Hopkin, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“A motorist who was driving past reported seeing a man hitting the dog to its head by the side of the road.
“We are studying dashcam footage of the incident and liaising with the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association as part of our efforts to trace the man.
“We are now in a position to release this image of someone we would like to speak with.
‘We understand the image is not very clear but believe people who know this man will recognise him.
“If you do know him, or have any other information which could help, please get in touch with police.
“I would also directly urge the man to come forward so we can take his account of what happened.”
Anyone who can assist should call police on 101, quoting incident number 24000689255.
