Police are appealing for anyone who has footage of an assault in Lower Parliament Street to come forward.
A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the incident at around 4am today (4 December 2019) outside Pryzm nightclub. His injuries are serious, but not believed to be life-threatening.
Detectives are working hard to establish the circumstances and are reviewing CCTV in the area and have spoken to a number of witnesses but are urging anyone who has mobile phone, CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward.
A scene that was put in place in Lower Parliament Street is expected to be lifted shortly.
Detective Inspector Danny Johnstone said: “There were a number of people in the area at the time and several vehicles have driven past.
“I would urge taxi drivers, or any members of the public who have dash-cam footage that may show the disturbance or the moments before or after it to give us a call as soon a possible.
“If you have taken mobile phone footage of the incident we would also like to hear from you.
“This was a serious assault and we are determined to catch those responsible. Please call 101 and quote incident number 67 of 4 December 2019.”
