Police appeal for witnesses of fight in Mansfield

Police are appealing for information following a fight between a group of men in Mansfield.

Some of the men were carrying weapons during the incident.

The disturbance started in Noel Street at around 5.40pm before a Ford Fiesta was smashed up in Rosemary Street and a 20-year-old man was assaulted. His injuries are not life-threatening or altering. The car was later found abandoned in Debdale Lane and has been seized by police.

Nottinghamshire Police have also seized an Audi A3 in Burns Street and a Ford Focus in the Union Street car park in connection with the incident.

We would also like to hear from anyone who has CCTV, mobile phone footage or dash-cam footage of the incident

Detective Sergeant Matt Scott, who is leading the investigation, said: “Officers are trying to establish the full circumstances of the incident and local residents will see uniformed officers in the area today as they make enquiries. We would invite you to come and talk to us if you have any information that could help the enquiry.

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Noel Street, Rosemary Street, Burns Street, Union Street and Debdale Lane to come forward with any information. We would also like to hear from anyone who has CCTV, mobile phone footage or dash-cam footage of the incident.
