Police arrest man following serious assault at Nottinghm’s Forest Recreation Ground

Police have arrested a man in connection with a serious assault at the city’s Forest Recreation Ground.

Nottinghamshire Police were called just before 6 pm yesterday (Tuesday 12 May 2020) to reports of the assault, which was reported to have taken place on the Forest Park and Ride site close to its Gregory Boulevard entrance.

The victim – a man in his early twenties – was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre by ambulance crews following the incident, where he was treated for injuries including a neck injury. He has since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 21-year-old man, during the early hours of today, on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Danny Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We believe this was an isolated incident and that both men involved are known to each other.

“We are still appealing for witnesses and information which will help us with the investigation. If you saw anything suspicious or have any details that could help please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 594 of 12 May 2020.”
