On Saturday 25 October 2025, officers from the Worksop North Neighbourhood Team and Worksop Response swiftly attended the A57 following reports of street racers using the road as a race track.
Police said that thanks to vital community intelligence they attended the incident yesterday evening.
A spokesperson said:
‘A number of vehicle details were logged, and officers will be reviewing dashcam footage and static CCTV in the area to identify offences.
‘Let’s be clear: road racing, speeding, and dangerous driving will not be tolerated in Nottinghamshire.
These reckless behaviours endanger lives — not just those of the drivers, but innocent road users too.
‘We also recognise the impact this has on the local community — the noise, disruption, and fear it causes are unacceptable.
‘We will use every power and tool available to us to deal with offenders and keep our roads and neighbourhoods safe.’
