Police called to Nottingham incident involving imitation firearm

A 44-year-old man has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause of violence and possession of amphetamine.

A man is due in court charged with imitation firearm and drug offences after police responded to reports of a disturbance at a house.

Police were called to an incident in Longmead Drive, Sherwood, which happened at around 12.50am yesterday (Saturday 9 October 2021).

A 44-year-old man has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause of violence and possession of amphetamine.

He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday 11 October).

Detective Sergeant Hannah Frame, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our priority as officers is the safety of the public.

“Officers were very quickly on scene following this report which appears to have been an isolated incident with no wider threat to the local community.

“We hope this swift action shows how seriously we take such reports and reassures the community that we will always look to take robust action against those suspected to have committed offences of this nature.”
