A road closure was put in place while emergency services responded to a series of fires in the Hucknall area.
Police said:
‘Emergency services were called after 8.30pm today following reports of three cars alight across Nottingham Road.
‘Firefighters attended, while police set up a road closure at the location.
‘A 38-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of arson and assault of an emergency worker.

‘We would advise residents to avoid this area while the emergency services continue to respond to this incident.
‘If anyone saw anything suspicious or has any information which can help with our enquiries then please call 101, quoting incident number 526 of 4 January 2026.’
