Police found thousands of pounds of cash in the boot of a car when they pulled it over.
Officers pulled over the car in Alfreton Road, Canning Circus, shortly after 7.15pm yesterday (Monday) after becoming suspicious of its movements.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property. He has been interviewed by officers form Nottinghamshire Police’s financial investigation unit and released under investigation.
The cash has been seized by police as investigations continue.
Detective Constable Michael Powis, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers pulled this car over because they suspected it may be involved in criminal activity.
“The very significant sum of cash found in the boot served to further these suspicions and the driver was arrested.
“We are extremely proactive in policing our road network and regularly pull over cars if we suspect they are being used to commit offences.”
