Police dismantle cannabis-drying operation in Notts

Officers uncovered a large quantity of plants that had already been cropped and were in the process of being dried out.

A cannabis grow has been dismantled in Chapelgate after it was discovered by officers from the Retford Neighbourhood Policing team.

Police were called to the address at around 11am on Tuesday 8 (September 2020) following concerns raised by local residents.

Officers uncovered a large quantity of plants that had already been cropped and were in the process of being dried out.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Sam Pearson said: “We had received complaints about the smell of cannabis coming from this property and my team quickly attended and came across the plants which were almost dried out ready to be sold on our streets.

“As they’d already been cropped we can’t say for sure how much was there but I’d estimate around five kilograms which was quite a substantial amount.
