Two police dogs combined to detain a pair of suspects inside a car.
Officers were called shortly after 9pm on 3 September after the vehicle was reported missing by its owner in Balderton, Newark.
The vehicle was spotted a short time later in the London Road area, when a decision was taken to make tactical contact in order to bring it to a stop – thereby preventing a potentially dangerous pursuit.
As the driver of the car attempted to break free by ramming a police car, the handlers of PD Russo and PD Rooster took immediate action with their dogs to detain the driver and front seat passenger.
The driver was later treated in hospital.
Two men, aged 34 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of burglary. The older man was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains on police bail.
Sergeant Nicholas Dachtler, of Nottinghamshire Police’s dog section, said:
“This was a great bit of teamwork by two handlers who took swift action to stop this car and protect the public.
“In doing so they and their animals showed significant bravery in a very challenging situation.”
