Police helicopter and armed officers attend fight near Colwick Park

Nottinghamshire Police deployed a helicopter and armed officers after the dispute was reported to involve a weapon.

A spokesperson told us:

“We were called following a report of a dispute in Racecourse Road, Colwick Park, at around 1.05pm today. Due to a report that a knife had been seen, armed officers swiftly attended, assisted by the police helicopter. They thoroughly searched the area and established that there had been no weapon involved.

“Two men sustained minor injuries. A 37-year-old man and a 41-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of affray.”
