Detectives investigating a report of shots being fired at a property in St Ann’s on Saturday afternoon are appealing for anyone with any information that could identify those responsible to come forward.
Nottinghamshire Police were called just before 1pm on Saturday 2 May after residents of the property in Egerton Walk reported damage to their front door after they heard a loud bang earlier in the day.
Police Crime Scene Investigators were dispatched to the address and later confirmed the damage to have been caused by a firearm, with the incident believed to have happened at around 10.30am.
No-one was injured during the incident and officers have been supporting the residents of the property since the incident was reported.
Investigative teams remained on the scene throughout the day as detectives launched their investigation, with the inspector leading the enquiries now urging anyone with information to come forward.
Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a motorcycle leaving the area at speed along St Ann’s Way towards Woodborough Road shortly after the incident.
Detective Inspector Rachael North from Nottinghamshire Police said: “We appreciate that incidents of this nature within such a tightknit community will cause a great deal of concern, but I would like to reassure the public that we are actively pursuing a number of lines of enquiries to track down those responsible.
“Although our initial enquiries suggest that the wrong address has been targeted, it has understandably left those living within the property shaken and we are working hard to ensure that those responsible for this reckless act face the consequences of their actions.
“We are now appealing to anyone with any information about the incident, who may have captured the incident on dashcam footage or may know who is responsible to contact Nottinghamshire Police as soon as possible.”
