Police hunt suspects after officer injured following Nottingham nightclub brawl

Officers were called to reports that door staff had been assaulted as a group tried to enter 101 Bar in St James' Street.

Detectives are actively working to trace suspects after a car collided with an officer as the driver made off from Nottinghamshire police.

Officers were called to reports that door staff had been assaulted as a group tried to enter 101 Bar in St James’ Street at around 1.40am today (Saturday 19 September).

Having made off to nearby vehicles, a Police Officer directed the driver of one of the vehicles to stop. But instead it came towards the officer and collided with him, causing bruising to his arm before leaving the area.

Detective Sergeant Ian Holmes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “My team are working around the clock, we’ve made substantial leads through the night and are working through numerous enquiries.”

“The offender acted recklessly and could have seriously injured one of our officers or even an innocent bystander.

“We won’t tolerate disorder and dangerous driving in Nottinghamshire and will leave no stone unturned in finding those responsible.”
