This week Nottingham City Council shared a large donation of popcorn with the Bestwood, Bulwell and Sherwood Nottinghamshire Police Beat Team. The donation was made to Nottingham City Council by Wilko Stores.
A spokesperson said:
‘As we did with the Easter Eggs last week, we had a think about local good causes which we could give it away to.
‘We decided to give it away to the following: Local schools –
Our Lady Primary
Bulwell Academy
Hayden Road Primary
Stansted Primary
Robin Hood Primary
Southglade Primary
Glade Hill Primary
Rise Park Primary
Westglade Primary
Heathfield Primary
City Hospital – Nurses and Ambulance Crews
Postal Workers –
Neighbourhood Operations Street Cleansing Officers –
‘We made these choices so that those still attending school, saving the nation, keeping our deliveries coming, cleaning our streets and those setting a good example of social distancing had something tasty to snack on whilst celebrating ‘The Big Night In’ later this evening.
‘For those of you that don’t already know ‘The Big Night In’ is a first-time collaboration of Children In Need and Comic Relief to deliver a special night of television. More importantly, it will raise money for and pay tribute to those on the front line fighting COVID-19 and all the unsung heroes going the extra mile to support communities.’
