Police knife-crime operation searches Alford Road park in West Bridgford

Rushcliffe officers have been engaged in Operation Scorpion, which is an operation around knife crime enforcement and prevention.

Officers have been regularly searching undergrowth in local parks with metal detectors, to ensure that any knives that have been stashed or hidden for future criminal use are found and removed.

Yesterday (Tuesday 03/12/2019) officers searched around Alford Road park in West Bridgford.

Police said:

‘This was not in relation into any specific information or intelliegence around knives at Alford Park.

‘No knives were found on this occasion, but we will continue this type of patrol on a regular basis in this and other areas.

‘Officers were also open-minded to other offences, such as drug use, and aware of details of any recent stolen vehicles, becoming involved in the search for a recently reported stolen car.’
