Police name man who died after car hit a wall in Plumtree – family pay tribute to ‘great son and brother and friend to all’

Police have named a 19-year-old man who died after the car he was driving hit a wall on Monday (14 June) at around 1.25am.

Jamie Huscroft, of Keyworth, was driving his silver Vauxhall Corsa car when it came off Main Road, Plumtree. He died at the scene.

His devastated family have released this statement: “Jamie will always be a great son and brother but more so a friend to all.’’

“He will leave such a huge hole in so many people’s lives. Full of fun, laughter and such a character.” They now ask for privacy at this time and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A 22-year-old passenger of the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is in a stable condition.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the incident but an investigation has been launched into the circumstances.

Collision Investigator Sarah Butler, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a devastating incident and the family are still coming to terms with the shock and grief of losing their beloved Jamie.

“Our thoughts are also with the injured passenger and his family as we support them during this difficult time.

“We continue to investigate the full circumstances around what happened and our appeal for  information remains – if anyone saw a silver Vauxhall Corsa being driven in the Keyworth and Plumtree areas around the time of the collision, please get in touch.

“In particular, if anyone has dashcam footage that could be useful to us, please give us a call.”
