Rushcliffe South Neighbourhood Policing Team have been conducting patrols this week in support of Operation Sceptre.

The operation is a national campaign which runs twice a year, aiming to reduce the number of knives being carried on our streets.

Police said:

‘The patrols resulted in positive action when officers stopped a vehicle on Wilford Road Ruddington and due to information held in regards to it and the driver, the car was searched and a locking knife was located in the driver’s door.

‘The driver has been arrested and has been charged to court, the knife has been seized and will be destroyed once the case has been finalised at court.
