Police pay respects with silence and service

PUBLISHED:

Earlier today (Friday 9 November), Nottinghamshire Police observed a two minute silence in a short service held at Force Headquarters.

At 10:45am, officers, staff and volunteers gathered outside to pay their respects to those who have lost their lives in war.

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Cooper read the poem ‘In Flanders Field’ and lay a wreath at the war memorial on behalf of Nottinghamshire Police.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice in 1918 which signalled the end of the First World War.
