A large police presence on Cheapside in Nottingham city centre caused tram delays and a cordon was installed across the road near Old Market Square.
NET said that trams were delayed from operating by about 90 minutes – service resumed at just after 2 pm on Monday 13 November.
NET said at 2:04 pm:
‘Service update 14:04: We are now running to all destinations with delays to some services due to the earlier police incident.’
The incident was a ‘medical episode’ say police rather than any crime-related response.
A police statement will be updated in due course.
However, a cordon remains outside Burger King and around a stall on the Christmas Market on the square.
At 2:43 pm the market cordon was removed.
