Drugs were recovered and a suspect was arrested after officers pursued an e-bike in Radford.
Officers acting on intelligence spotted a Surron e-bike on Sunday evening (8 June) on Gregory Boulevard, Hyson Green, and attempted to pull the rider over.
As officers activated their vehicle’s blue lights, the rider mounted the pavement and headed off to Radford Boulevard.
For a brief moment, the bike stopped on Canterbury Road, where a bag of suspected heroin was later found discarded.
The pursuit then continued before the bike was abandoned in Radford Bridge Road, Wollaton.
The rider then tried and failed to outrun officers and was detained.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with the intent to supply a Class A drug, possession of the Class B drug cannabis, using a vehicle without insurance, driving without a license, and failing to stop. He has since been released on police bail.
Inspector Chris Chell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We regularly stop vehicles that pique our suspicions, and this was a great result that led us to getting drugs off the streets.
“Illegal drugs ruin lives and destroy communities, and as a force we continue to work tirelessly to crack down on this sort of offending.”
