A man has been charged with driving, drugs and theft offences after officers saw a stolen car in West Bridgford on Sunday afternoon.
Officers pursued the vehicle after becoming suspicious of its driver
After a short pursuit the vehicle, containing two men, crashed and hit a lamppost in Collington Way at around 6.20 pm.
Both occupants fled on foot.
Steven Sunderland, 30, from Nottingham, was later detained by officers using a dog and aerial drone on the roof of a storage cylinder at Asda in Loughborough Road.
He has now been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance, handling stolen goods and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.
He has been remanded in custody.
The car was reported stolen from outside an address in Church Street, Bunny, and is believed to have been taken between 8 pm on Friday and midday Saturday.
