Morning police raids reaped their rewards with three suspects taken into custody and knives and drugs removed from harm’s way.
Firearms warrants were executed at two addresses in Wilford Crescent West and Wilford Grove, in The Meadows area.
Nottinghamshire Police’s city south Operation Reacher team led the operation, supported by neighbourhood policing team colleagues and the force’s tactical support group.
As a result of the positive enforcement activity on Thursday (17 June 2021), two women, aged 21 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and a 23-year-old man was also arrested for breaching a court order.
Six knives were also seized from the Wilford Grove address along with cannabis, drug paraphernalia, cash and phones.
Neighbourhood Inspector Karl Thomas, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “As the proactive warrants and positive results show, we remain committed to targeting serious criminality in our neighbourhoods and making our communities safer.
“I hope it reassures residents that we are listening to what they are telling us and taking action to tackle issues which matter most to them, including drug supply and weapon-enabled crime.
“A knife falling into the wrong hands can potentially be deadly so I’m pleased we’ve managed to remove these weapons from circulation as well as the drugs.
“Proactive warrants are just one small part of the ongoing preventative work that we are doing to tackle and reduce crime on our streets and we will not hesitate to take robust action against individuals suspected to be involved in offences and who cause misery for law-abiding residents.
“We will continue to drive our targeted activity around what really matters most to our communities and I’d urge people to please report any concerns about crime in their area by calling Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, dial 999.”
