Police re-appeal for help to find missing man who ‘vanished’ 16 weeks ago

More than 25 leads were generated following a national appeal for information about the whereabouts of Huw Williams.

The disappearance of a man who has been missing for four months is continuing as detectives thank the public for their continued support for the investigation.

Dedicated officers followed up piece of information but sadly nothing led to them finding him – and now they are urging anyone else who may be able to help to come forward.

The last sighting of the 25-year-old from Chester was 16 weeks ago, on May 6, when he was seen in Nottingham at the home he shared with a woman.

Since then there have been no sightings of him reported by anyone, and his family and friends have had no contact with him.

He has vanished without his phone and is without any obvious funds to support himself.

Huw’s devastated family has not seen him since Christmas and the last contact they had with him was in early May, around the time of the first bank holiday weekend.

His disappearance is highly unusual leaving his family stricken with worry about what has happened to him and desperately wanting to hear from him that he’s safe and well.

His family made a heartfelt national appeal in July, in the hope this would lead to someone saying they know where he is, or even Huw himself letting people know that he is safe.

The appeal was shared widely across social media platforms, in the national media and by other forces to try and help find him.

Officers are now pursuing other lines of enquiry in the hope of tracing Huw and are re-appealing for anyone who may have seen him to please get in touch as soon as possible.

Detective Superintendent Nick Waldram, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It has now been four months since Huw was last seen.

“As you might imagine his family remain extremely concerned for his welfare and so we are continuing to urge anyone with any information about his whereabouts to come forward.

“On our last media appeal, we had over 25 leads from members of the public but unfortunately none of those led to his location.

“Each lead was followed up and investigated with other local forces but Huw’s whereabouts are still unknown.

“We had a good public response to our appeal last time so are encouraging anyone again with any information to get in touch with anything that may help us locate Huw.

“Enquires are ongoing and I’d like to thank members of the public who have come forward with possible reported sightings but I want to urge anyone who may have seen Huw any time since 6 May to contact us immediately.”

Huw is described as being 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build, with bushy brown hair and a full beard.

He has two tattoos on his arms, one is of a fish on his right forearm and one is of a black and white skull on his left bicep.

He was last seen wearing a chequered shirt, dark blue trousers, and trainers with reflective silver stripes. He may also have a green waterproof jacket with him.

Huw himself, or anyone who has seen him or who may have any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 70 of 6 May 2021.
