Police recover £80,000 cash and make two arrests in Nottingham raid

Police seized cocaine and around £80,000 in cash and arrested two people during a search of a house.

Officers carried out the warrant in Westleigh Road in Broxtowe Estate at around 8.30am on Monday 14 June.

The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of illegal drugs.

After gaining entry to the property police found large quantities of what is believed to be cocaine in multiple rooms of the house.

The cash was also found in various locations, hidden in bags and boxes and generally rolled or clipped together.

Multiple mobile phones were seized as well as electronic scales.

A 35-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply.

Detective Inspector Jamie Hill, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This operation was planned in response to community intelligence and I hope will send a very clear message to people who are involved with the illegal trade in drugs – we may know more about your activities than you think and we could be paying you a visit in the near future.
