Police recover drugs and cash after high speed pursuit in Nottingham

Police recovered illegal drugs and cash after stopping a speeding car.

The car was driving at speed along Bar Lane, Aspley, when it was spotted by officers at around 1:43 am this morning (Tuesday 21 June).

After following the car for a short distance, the officers pulled it car over in nearby Nuthall Road.

Inside they found a collection of what are believed to be nitrous oxide cannisters and around £160 in cash.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a psychoactive substance with intent to supply. He remains in police custody.

Sergeant Susan Farren, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our officers’ attention was drawn to this car by the way it was being driven.

“After taking action to pull it over they soon uncovered a quantity of illegal drugs and arrested the driver.

“This is yet another reminder that our roads are simply not a safe space for people involved in the distribution of drugs.”
