Tyrone Thomas, 28, of Bakersfield, 28-year-old Matthew Galloway of Aspley, 27-year-old Umar Alam of Arthur Road, 28-year-old Amraiz Mahmood of Carlton and 29-year-old Mitch Butterworth of Bramcote have all been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life and were remanded in custody after appearing at Nottingham Magistrate’s Court on Saturday (24 April 2021).
Superintendent Mat Healey, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is again a great example of officers working proactively and, as a result, they have recovered multiple firearms, drugs, cash and ammunition, and have removed them from circulation.
“Firearms can be deadly in the wrong hands and the fact that these have been recovered safely is extremely positive news.
“Drugs have a detrimental impact on lives and communities and can often be linked to, or result in, wider criminal activity. For this reason, it’s important that where reported we take swift action on this as well.
“Officers are continuing their enquiries following the charges and anyone with information on this is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
“We work closely with local communities to gather intelligence about serious criminal activity and I would ask that if any has any concerns in their local area to report it to police on 101 or in an emergency, dial 999.”
