Police have issued an image of a man they want to trace after an unprovoked attack on a man in a Nottingham nightclub.
The 22-year-old victim was on the main dancefloor at Rock City, in Talbot Street, Nottingham city centre, when a man punched him several times, caused him a black eye, swelling, and concussion.
Officers are now in a position to release an image of a man they believe could help them with their inquiries into the incident which happened around 1.20am on 31 August.
PC Sam Field, who is investigating the incident, said: “I would urge anyone who recognises the man in this picture to contact us as soon as possible.
“The nightclub would’ve still been busy at the time, so we do believe people will have seen this attack take place. The victim had to go to hospital for treatment after sustaining facial injuries.
“Violence of this kind is simply not acceptable. We have conducted a number of inquiries into this incident and to identify the attacker and are now turning to the public for assistance.
“We believe the man pictured could help us further our investigation. Are you the man in the picture? Do you know who he is? Please get in touch with us if you have any information.”
Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident number 54 of 31 August, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
