Police release image after Christmas Day burglary attempts

Police want to speak to this man following multiple break-in attempts at a house on Christmas Day.

Officers were notified later in the day after someone tried unsuccessfully to get into a house in Andover Road, Bestwood.

A man was seen to make numerous attempts to gain access to the property – trying the door handle multiple times between 4.40pm and 5.10pm.

After returning for a final time and trying to let himself in, the individual at that point smashed up the house’s CCTV camera and left the scene with it.

Police have been conducting inquiries since the Christmas Day incident was reported and are now able to release this picture as part of an appeal for information.

PC Harry Ford, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“If the person pictured sees this appeal and spots themselves, we’d encourage them to do the right thing and make themselves known to us.

“For obvious reasons, we’d like to ask them a few questions, so that we can fully establish what happened.

“Likewise, we’d ask anyone who recognises this man to contact the police too.

“This can be done by calling 101, quoting incident 374 of 25 December 2024, while information can also be shared anonymously through Crimestoppers by ringing 0800 555 111.”
