Detectives have released CCTV images of four people they wish to trace after a knife was brandished at a shopkeeper.
The incident happened in Nottingham Road at around 6 pm on Thursday 1 February.
Officers have carried out a number of lines of inquiry including an area search to try and locate those involved but so far no arrests have been made.
A group of young men approached a local shop near the junction of Nottingham Road and Egypt Road.
Following a minor dispute with the shopkeeper, they produced a knife. No injuries were sustained. They then left the scene.
Detectives are now calling on the public’s help to identify the four people who could help officers with their inquiries.
Detective Constable Chris Adams, who is investigating the incident, said:
“While we have not received any further reports of a similar nature in this area, we are still determined to find those responsible.
“We take all reports of knife crime extremely seriously and we must catch anyone who is carrying a blade on the streets of our city.
“We have released CCTV images of four people who could help us with our inquiries and we would urge the public to get in touch if they recognise them.
“We understand that the CCTV images are not of the best quality but we are hoping that someone will recognise the young men due to their clothing.
“Do you recognise the people in the CCTV images? Are you the people in the CCTV images? Please get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is being asked to call 101 quoting incident number 0598 of the 1 February 2024 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
