Police release name of man killed in Nottingham city centre

Keany Kristal Kissingou-Mabiala’s family have asked for privacy during this difficult time.

The name of a man who was killed in Nottingham city centre has been released by Nottinghamshire Police.

Keany Kristal Kissingou-Mabiala (photograph supplied by Keany’s family), 20, of Mowbray Court, St Ann’s, died from injuries sustained in an attack that took place in Milton Street in Nottingham City Centre at around 1.15pm on Monday 12 October.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder minutes after the incident was reported to police. Emergency services worked to treat Keany but sadly, he died at the scene.

On Monday evening, a 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of murder as part of detectives’ enquiries.

Detective Inspector Steve Wragg, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a tragic incident that has resulted in a young man losing his life.

“At this moment in time, we are not looking for anyone else as part of our enquiries and I would like to thank the public for their cooperation and information to help us understand the circumstances of this attack.

“We are aware that Keany was a prominent figure in the local music scene and we understand that people are incredibly saddened to have learned of his death.

“For someone so young to have lost their life is always a tragedy and our thoughts remain with Keany’s family who are being supported by specially trained officers.”

The boy and the man arrested remain in police custody on suspicion of murder.
