Police search River Trent in West Bridgford after reports of someone in the water

Emergency services have attended the scene after reports of a person in the River Trent.

A specialist underwater search team and paramedics are still at the scene this morning.

Nottinghamshire Police said:

‘Water and land searches are being carried out, including the use of a police helicopter and specialist drone team, after partner agencies were called to the Welbeck Road area in West Bridgford just after 9.15pm last night (Saturday 6 November 2021).

‘Police, fire crews and paramedics will remain at the scene while the search continues.’

Inspector Asif Mohammed Nottinghamshire Police, said: ‘This is an ongoing incident and I’d encourage the public to avoid the area while emergency services carry out their work to trace the person.’
