Police are trying to trace two more people in connection with an assault which left a man with a cut to his head.
Officers have already arrested three girls, aged 15, 16 and 17, on suspicion of affray after a man was reportedly surrounded and kicked in the Old Market Square in the city centre.
They have now released images of two further people who they believe will be able to help them as they continue their investigation into the incident.
The victim was left with an injury to his forehead for which he received medical treatment on scene following the incident at 7.55pm on Saturday 22 May 2021. His injury was not life-threatening or altering.
Detective Constable Robert Love, investigating the incident, said: “Such actions are absolutely uncalled for and left a man with injuries to his head, which had the potential to become really serious.
“Whenever violence is used there is always potential for the consequences to be dangerous. Officers responded quickly to diffuse the situation and made two arrests at the time.
“Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would reassure people that officers are committed to their investigation into such reports.
“We believe the two people photographed will be able to help us with our investigation and we would urge anyone who recognises them to get in touch.”
The three girls previously arrested in connection with the enquiry have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 654 of 22 May 2021.
