Officers investigating a report of a three-year-old girl being bitten on the face by a dog have seized a dog in connection with the incident.
Detective Sergeant Laura Clarke, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I’d like to thank the public for sharing this appeal and for the information that has been passed to us as a result.
“We are now making progress with our enquiry and have seized a dog in connection with the report.
“The three-year-old girl that was bitten remains in hospital for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.”
Officers were called to the Enderby Square / Woodside Road area in Lenton Abbey, shortly after 3.30pm today (Tuesday 19 May 2020).
A German Shepherd, which was not on a lead, bit the girl before the dog and its female walker left the scene.
The girl has been taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre.
