The A1 is closed southbound between the A57 (Markham Moor) and the B6325 (North Muskham).
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said:
‘The A1 is currently closed between North Muskham and Carlton-on-Trent following a serious collision.
‘The road will remain closed for much of the rest of the day for investigation work to be carried out.
‘We will update with more information when we have it.’
