Maid Marian Way was closed for five hours on Friday 3 June.
Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson: “Police were called just before 11am this morning to St Nicholas Church in Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, after concerns were raised for a man’s welfare.
“Acting out of abundance of caution, armed officers were deployed to the scene and the road was closed in both directions.
“A man has now been detained. Nobody has been injured and the road is expected to be reopened be re-opened shortly.”
