Police statement: Concern for woman’s safety closes Nottingham city roads

Due to a closure of Maid Marian Way the following bus routes are currently diverting.

NCT: Due to the previous closure of Maid Marian Way all Navy Line services towards the City remain diverting via the City Loop. Beastmarket Hill stops are being served.

Police said:

‘Several roads in Nottingham have been closed as emergency services respond to concerns for a woman’s safety.

‘Maid Marian Way has been closed in both directions due to the incident at a multi-storey car park.

‘Closures are also in place along Castle Boulevard and Canal Street.’

Nottingham City Transport said:

All Navy and Green line buses leaving the City will depart via Upper Parliament Street, Burton Street, Canal Street and return to normal route past the Railway Station.

Navy line services towards the City operating via City Loop towards Beastmarket Hill.

Turquoise line services are diverting via Talbot Street, looping around Burton Street to serve Upper Parliament Street stops only.

Orange 34 will operate directly towards Angel Row stops only.

AA Roadwatch reports:

Road closed and slow traffic due to police incident on A6008 Maid Marian Way both ways between Castle Gate and A6005 Castle Boulevard. The road was closed at around 18.45. A short stretch of Castle Boulevard is also closed. Detour in operation.’
