Beeston specials policing team seized an e-scooter after the rider was riding into oncoming vehicles whilst also practising their one-handed riding skills using a mobile phone.
The officers were on Operation Potassium in Beeston.
Sgt Dilks said:
“The rider was unaware of their surroundings and not paying attention and failed to notice our marked police vehicle with blue lights and sirens activated as they rode directly into the path of our vehicle and other road users”.
The e-scooter was seized and the rider was issued with a traffic offence report (TOR) and reported for driving offences.
No driving licence, no insurance and using a mobile phone.
