Nottinghamshire Police has made a renewed appeal for witnesses following an incident in Hyson Green.
Detectives have established that there was a verbal altercation between a small group of Romanian men in the Radford Road area between 6pm and 7pm yesterday (Sunday 11 August).
At some time during the incident the men went into Kirkstead Street Playground and there was one report of a gun being fired – although no one was hurt, no evidence has been found of a firearms discharge and no further witnesses have reported gunshots.
Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are still trying hard to establish what has actually happened and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
“We know that there were a number of people in the area – it is a busy location and it happened during daylight when people would have clearly noticed any sort of altercation. We just need those people to call us on 101, quoting incident number 707 of 11 August 2019, so we can get a clear picture of what happened. Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
