Heavy rainfall has caused hazardous driving conditions with standing water on the region’s motorways.
Police patrolling the M1 in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire today shared these images.
Officers said:
‘M1 Motorway
‘Lots of standing water causing issues this morning.

‘This was a two-vehicle collision after hitting standing water and then a crash barrier.
‘No injuries but lots of tailbacks.
‘The signs are there to slow you down.’
