People who drive in an antisocial way in Colwick and Clifton this weekend are at risk of having their vehicles seized.
Officers are responding to a recent increase in antisocial vehicle use in Daleside Road, Colwick, and on the A453 in Clifton, and will be taking aim at drivers who are speeding , making excessive noise, or driving aggressively.
A dispersal order will be in place from 7pm on Saturday 17 August to 6am on Monday 18 August which will also allow officers to remove spectators from the side of the road.
Inspector Steve Dalby said:
“This behaviour is unacceptable and is causing alarm and distress to other road users and those living in the area. It is also extremely dangerous and puts people’s lives at risk.
“We are working closely with Nottingham City Council to address this behaviour and to make sure residents and visitors feel safe.
“To this end, officers will be in the area over the weekend both visibly and covertly and will be taking action as necessary to address residents’ concerns.
“This may include – but is not limited to – fixed penalty notices, community protection warning notices, arrests and vehicle seizures as appropriate.”
