Transport Nottingham has announced that the pop-up cycle lane at Oundle Drive / Middleton Boulevard will become permanent.
Transport Nottingham said:
‘F ollowing a successful trial and feedback, the pop-up cycle lane on Oundle Drive/Middleton Boulevard as part of the EATF is being improved and made permanent. The permanent cycle lane is being funded by Transforming Cities tranche 1 funding.
Works will begin on Monday 26 October lasting approximately 10 weeks and will be completed in three phases.
Phase 1:
- Middleton Boulevard from Derby Road to Oundle Drive
- From Monday 26 October – end of November 2020
Phase 2:
- Oundle Drive to Lime Tree Avenue
- From November to December 2020
Phase 3:
- Lime Tree Avenue to Sutton Passeys Crescent
- beginning of January for two weeks
Bus stop WO30 will be temporarily closed for the duration of the works. The next bus stop available to use is at Lime Tree Ave.
How will this affect traffic?
We are not expecting the works to be disruptive to traffic and won’t be closing any accesses or junctions.
There may be slight disruption to traffic when the drains are being installed in the road, however we will keep traffic moving and will target these works for a quiet time of day.
The existing EATF cycle scheme will no longer be in use as this space will be used for construction purposes. Pedestrians and cyclists will be provided with a safe route throughout the duration of the works.
