Popular Halloween trail returns to Nottingham city

Following the success of the last It’s in Nottingham’s Halloween event in 2019, which saw over 1,000 families travel into the city centre to take part in the family friendly activity, Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) is excited to announce the return of the Halloween Trail.

The spooktacular event will be back in place for the autumn half term (18 – 31 October 2021) and it is bigger and better than ever before with an Augmented Reality (AR) Trail.

People are encouraged to dress up in their scariest Halloween costume and tread through the crispy autumn leaves to hunt out the hidden ghostly characters in the city to play an augmented reality game, via mobile phones, with each of the seven fun characters.

The much loved Ghostbuster car ‘Ecto 1’ – which could well be the rarest movie car in existence – and the It’s in Nottingham Ghostbusters team will be making an appearance during the event too.

“Last time over 1,000 families followed the Halloween Trail, discovering lots of different shops, restaurants, coffee shops and leisure venues in the process, making it a real hit with our levy payers,” said Lucy Stanford, Director of Operations at Nottingham BID, the organisers of this It’s in Nottingham initiative.

“Family Friendly and a safe alternative to ‘Trick or Treating’ the event was enjoyed by residents and visitors to the city. Ecto 1 was also very popular, which is why we have brought it back again for this year.

“Being half term, it is a perfectly timed free initiative, particularly for families.”
