Portello Lounge on Central Avenue operated the first event today Saturday 27 February.
General Manager Bobby Holmes told The Wire:
“We’re hosting a soup kitchen for free soup, tea and coffee every Saturday from 11am till 3pm for ANYONE that wants to stop by, we’re taking optional donations for Meet, Greet and Eat but anyone can come down and grab hot drinks or soup – we’re working with Meet, Greet and Eat to help support vulnerable, disabled and homeless people within our community.

“The project has been run by Portello Lounge team members who are currently on furlough and looking to fill their time by supporting the community and giving back.
“Alongside our soup kitchen on a Saturday we have been making meals for local residents who need hot meals on a Tuesday lunch and hot meals for The Friary who are supporting homeless people currently housed in hotels across Nottingham!
“We’re super excited to have the opportunity to work for people in our local community and give back to people who have been so supportive of us since arriving in West Bridgford!”
