Possible snow later this week for Nottinghamshire, says Met Office

There are no warnings for snow in Nottinghamshire but some is possible according to forecasters.

Becoming colder this week, with snow showers and widespread frosts.

Forecast for Nottinghamshire:

Today: Monday 6 March

A band of mainly light rain will clear eastwards this morning, with largely dry but cloudy conditions following. Some brighter spells are possible this afternoon before cloud thickens again this evening, but an increasing breeze means it will feel cold. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Outbreaks of rain this evening and overnight, turning wintry over hills and perhaps to lower levels later. Coastal snow showers for Lincolnshire. Widespread frost and icy patches developing by morning. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Tuesday:

A cold start, with widespread frost and icy patches. Thicker cloud will clear southwards, allowing bright or sunny spells to develop, along with a few wintry showers. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Very cold, with severe frosts overnight. Wednesday is largely dry with bright or sunny spells at first, then increasingly cloudy, with periods of rain and snow possible Thursday and Friday.
