Primary school places in Notts still due to be announced next week

Applications closed back in January of this year.

Parents across the city and county are still expected to be told next week which school their children will be starting in September.

The coronavirus outbreak has caused significant disruptions for schools, and for the councils in charge of allocating places.

But despite this, National Offer Day is still expected to go ahead as planned, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire councils have confirmed.

It means parents will be informed on Thursday, April 16 which school their primary age children will start in the new academic year.

Applications closed back in January of this year.

Last year in Nottinghamshire, more than 94 per cent of parents who applied on time were offered their first preference school, and almost 99 per cent of parents who applied on time were offered a place at one of their preferred schools.

Of the parents who were not successful for any of their preferences, 58.3 per cent had expressed only one preference for a reception place.

Parents who applied online will be able to view the outcome on the website.
