According to The Times and the BBC Boris Johnson will step down today.
An announcement is expected this morning.
The BBC reports that Boris Johnson is to resign as Conservative leader today following further ministerial resignations this morning
They suggest that he will continue to serve as prime minister until the autumn to allow a new leadership contest to take place
Nadhim Zahawi this morning told Johnson he must “go now”, two days after being made chancellor
Recently appointed Education Secretary Michelle Donelan and Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis have also resigned, putting more pressure on Johnson
Ministers Helen Whately, Damian Hinds, George Freeman, Guy Opperman, Chris Philp, and James Cartlidge have also stepped down
But the PM has been defying calls to step down, pointing to his 2019 election win and large majority in Parliament.
