Nottinghamshire Police at the scene of today’s protest by Extinction Rebellion have told protesters they could be arrested.
After similar action yesterday on Collin Street in Nottingham police said:
‘Today’s protest by Extinction Rebellion has now concluded. We would like to thank the public for their patience during the disruption to roads.
‘We have been informed that there are likely to be similar protests in the city centre during morning traffic throughout the week. Please take this into account when making plans and leave extra time if travelling in the city.
‘Once again, thank you for your cooperation and patience.
No arrests have been made in connection with the protest.’
Today at the London Road event police said:
‘Nottinghamshire Police seeks to facilitate the right to peaceful protest, balancing that right with disruption to local communities.’
#ExtinctionRebellion protest continuing on London Road. @nottspolice have now turned up and warned protesters they could be arrested for blocking a public highway. No arrests yet but motorists honking horns in frustration.
