There is a broken down freight train at Trent East Junction.
Update 9:02 am
The line has reopened between Derby and East Midlands Parkway – we have delays up to 60 minutes on the trains that were stood. Trains are still unable to run between Derby and Nottingham in both directions
East Midlands Railway said at 8:33 am Saturday 28 October:
‘The incident is at Trent East Junction between Derby and Nottingham and is disrupting otrains on the Sheffield / Nottingham / London St Pancras, Newark Castle / Derby / Crewe, Nottingham / Derby / Matlock routes
‘Network Rail are in contact with the freight train provided and we are waiting for an update
How does this affect my train?
‘Our trains on our Sheffield / Nottingham / London St Pancras route are currently unable to run between Derby and East Midlands Parkway,
‘Our trains on our Newark Castle / Derby / Crewe route and our Nottingham / Derby / Matlock routes are currently unable to run between Nottingham and Derby and between Derby and Nottingham, in both directions
‘At present we have no estimate for when the freight train will be able to move forward.
‘As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.’
